Executive Staff


Doug Card


Excel’s President, Doug Card, has been in the waste industry for twenty five years. Doug graduated from South Texas University with a Bachelors degree in Business. Doug started his career in the waste industry with BFI before opening his own waste business, Waste Pro, which he later sold in 2007. Doug started Excel Medical Waste in 2010 as a broker in the medical waste industry and has grown the company to be a leading regional player. Doug is also the owner of Shred Pro Services and Houston Waste Solutions both located in Houston. While not busy working, Doug loves traveling, sports and spending time with his wife and three children.

Bruce Gear

General Manager

Bruce joined Excel to serve as General Manager in August of 2014. Prior to joining Excel, he spent 14 years in the Disaster Recovery Industry, serving in various roles as a senior Project Manager, Project Director, and Western US Regional Director of Operations. Bruce has also served for 9 years as Vice President of Operations for a Professional Employer Organization. Bruce earned a Bachelors of Science in Economics from the University of Houston. He is a native Houstonian and has been married for 20 years with two sons. Bruce is excited to be apart of Excel as it continues to grow and become a leader in the industry.



Chad Plata

Director of Operations

Mr. Plata is the Director of Operations. Chad is a dedicated, self-motivated individual with over 22 years of operations and environmental safety and health (ES&H) management experience. Chad joined the Excel Medical Waste team over two years ago. Chad is responsible for multiple locations in Texas. Chad’s primary role is the oversight of the day to day operations of the medical waste collections routes. In addition, his role encompasses: autoclave plant operations, reusable sharps programs, hazardous and non-hazardous pharmaceutical programs, regulatory compliance, and environmental health and safety.


Gloria Ramirez

Operations Manager

Gloria has been in the waste industry for 25 years. She is very knowledgeable of the industry as she has held multiple positions over the years from dispatch, to customer service and now serves as the Operations Manager for Excel Medical Waste. Gloria graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management. When Gloria is not working she enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren.


Tina Huelskamp

Dispatch Coordinator

Tina has served in the medical waste industry for almost a decade. As Excel’s Dispatch Coordinator, she is an important component of the day to day operations that include route management, dispatch and customer service. Over the years, Tina’s experience includes, but is not limited to, in-service sharps management, installation team of reusable sharps locations, broker relations, contracts, billing, and other day to day operation challenges. Tina attended Montgomery Community College in 2002 for business management. When not working, she enjoys time with her family and active with local civic organizations.


Grant Leshe

Plant Manager

Mr. Leshe is the Plant Manager with over 14 years of medical waste experience encompassing autoclave plant operations, boiler operations, maintenance, medical waste collection, permitting, compliance, and training. Grant started his career as a route driver and has held numerous roles and responsibilities over the years. These roles have included; Lead Driver, Transportation Manager, District Route Manager, and Plant Manager. Over the years, Grant has been an integral component of the reusable sharps program servicing multiple Large Quantity Generators. In addition, he has experience with hazardous and non-hazardous pharmaceutical waste programs. In his management role, Mr. Leshe is responsible for the safety and health of his employees in addition to establishing and maintaining performance and productivity metrics.



Lee McMorries

Director of Sales

Lee joined Excel as a Regional Account Executive in February of 2014 after two years with TEAM Marketing, leaving as South Texas Regional Manager. He is also a proud husband and father, who appreciates living in Houston and establishing his career with Excel Medical Waste. Lee earned Associates Degree from Oklahoma State University and transferred to The University of Houston Downtown, earning a Bachelors Degree in International Business. His main responsibilities include selling and marketing Excel’s exceptional services throughout Texas and Louisiana to current and potential clients.


Cameron Davis

Account Specialist

Cameron attended Sam Houston State University where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Cameron joined the Excel sales team in April of 2016 as an Account Specialist. As a part of the sales team Cameron is responsible for new customer acquisition, retention, and continued customer support. He prides himself on being a knowledgeable consultant of the Medical disposal industry, always willing to give advice when problems arise. In his free time he likes to fish, hang with his dog Jax, and spend time with his buddies from college.


Kat Mitchell

Regional Account Executive

Kat joined Excel Medical Waste Disposal in 2017 as Regional Account Executive. Her 15 years combined experience in customer services and sales makes her a great addition to the Excel team. Kat thrives on challenges, particularly those that expand the company’s reach. In additional to her professional achievements, Kat is active in the community, supporting local fund raising efforts and volunteering her time when needed. When not working, Kat looks forward to new adventures with her husband and children.


Chynna Richardson

Administrative Assistant/OSHA Liaison

Chynna joined Excel as the receptionist in December 2014. Prior to Excel, her previous positions included Store Manager and Collections Specialist for a Fortune 500 company. Today, as the Sales Administrative Assistant, she continues to build rapport with current and potential clients and provides skilled organizational assistance to departments such as Sales, Compliance, Operations, and Billing. When Chynna is not busy working, she enjoys volunteering for local & global organizations and spending time with her daughter and family.



Liz Reider


Liz retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone with 30 years’ experience in sales and customer service. Liz joined Excel Medical Waste in 2010. Liz has participated in many different departments at Excel from sales to customer service, and operations. Today she is the Comptroller for Excel.
