Excel stands firm in its’ belief that the processing of Regulated Medical Waste (RMW) by steam sterilization is the most effective method as it relates to minimizing or eliminating the environmental impact associated with other disposal forms. Autoclave technology uses steam under pressure to eliminate the potential of biological hazards as required by state regulatory agencies.
The sterilization process allows for final disposal in designated landfills. The Clean Air Act of 1997 as passed by Congress was partly enacted due to findings that indicated incineration methods that were being utilized at the time for RMW were responsible for the release of dioxins and mercury into the atmosphere. Excel will always strive to utilize the most Eco-Friendly methods that will benefit the communities that we serve.
